Freddie Mac Discontinues FreddieNotes Program

In an interesting and potentially foretelling move, Freddie Mac (FHLMC) discontinued a long running debt issuance program called FreddieNotes.  The program offered notes in the retail market, with a unique estate-planning feature that had a death put that would redeem for face value upon death of the holder.  There has been little to no information released on the cancellation of the program as of yet.  Freddie Mac continues to issue debt outside of this program, but this move has brought about questions in regards to the long-term plans for Freddie Mac.
