Weekly Market Update - August 16, 2013
Domestic stock prices traded lower this week. Equity markets declined again for the week amid continued investor uncertainty regarding the Fed and the health of the broader economy. Global markets were mixed on the week. World equity markets recorded varied performance this week. Asian stocks were a bright spot for the week with gains across many of the markets.
Treasury prices spiked this week. The yield on the benchmark 10‐year U.S. Treasury moved meaningfully higher, reaching the highest levels in two years.
Commodity indices were generally higher on the week. In particular precious metals experienced a strong week, while still remaining meaningfully below all‐time highs.
